Jibwa and The Future of Computing |

The staff and consultants at Jibwa LLC have been tinkering, working with, building, and developing software on computers since long before there was the internet, and long before the computer was a staple in our homes, offices, and now in our cars, phones, classrooms, and boardrooms. What we used to find in encyclopedias is now available in Wikis and Blogs, and a calender and a mailbox is in some ways replaced by a portable handheld like a Palm Pilot or an IPhone. Computers, their software, and capabilities have infiltrated our lives at an astounding pace.
Business and home life is changing. Not just from technology, and not just from economies, but from people and their needs and expectations.
Not so long ago, waiting for a signed document upwards of a week was
standard, and learning about a new product was limited, short of buying
it, to the advertising campaign or a friends recommendation. Negative
reviews of products, services, and movies used to be hard to find, and
it was common that a consumer bought, was dissapointed, but wouldn't
say it. Nearly all of our purchases, communication, and information
came from face to face relationships. We didn't expect to be keeping in
contact with our families and associates, shopping for cars, and making
travel plans with a keyboard from the confort of our living rooms.
People
have changed and so are a lot of standards. In seconds we can send a
email or post to a forum with our opinions and thoughts complaints and
tips. Companies will resolve divisions and departments and replace them
with software suites and a consolidated workforce. Startups spend
millions to create tools, toys, networks, and presences .The average
person is left wondering whether they need all the technology? What is
safe and confidential? How much should any of it cost and after buying
it can I expect it to be useful more then a few years? It is doubtful
there will ever be a simple answer or a definitive best practice or
solution.
With that in mind the future of computing is much like the history. New
products and technologies will always be appearing. Some companies will
rely too heavily on technology, or lose their personal touch, and others will keep as far away from
it as they can, and some will find a good balance. Industry leaders will continue to consolidate and
combine devices in new and interesting ways, and others will split them
apart and add new functionality we never guessed we'd have. Software
will move from the desktop to the web and probably back again to the
desktop in another form. Data and storage will go from expensive to
cheap, to never being deleted, to being a cause of security concern,
and back to being expensive.
In
the end of it all its a matter of people and businesses expecting and
offering computing and technology solutions and products. Jibwa LLC
aims to keep diversified and keep on top of all the new technologies
and provide custom tailored solutions using the best combination or
singular technologies for people to use and understand.
